My Coaching Journey
From Single-A private football in South Carolina to one of the most competitive 4A conferences in the country — I've built my career the long way, and every stop taught me something I still use today.
The Foundation — Richlands & Colleton Prep (2012–2014)
I started at Richlands High School in Virginia as a varsity assistant and JV offensive coordinator. Two playoff appearances, two region championships, two district championships — and an education in how winning programs run day to day. A season coaching both lines at Colleton Prep in South Carolina rounded out my view of the game in the trenches.
The Championship Years — Blacksburg High School (2015–2018)
As defensive coordinator at Blacksburg, I led the defense for the 2016 Virginia State Championship team — the school's first state title in 30 years, earned in just our second season together. Three playoff appearances in three seasons and a 7–2 postseason record.
Proving It at the Highest Level — Mooresville High School (2018–2022)
I called defense for three consecutive playoff teams in the I-Meck, one of North Carolina's most competitive 4A conferences, while teaching physical education. Friday nights in that conference are as close to college football as high school gets.
Building Beyond the Scheme — Lakeway Christian Academy (2022–2025)
As associate head coach and defensive coordinator, I designed and called all defensive concepts, leading the unit to two playoff appearances and the first playoff win in school history. I also directed the year-round strength and conditioning program — the engine room of any program I run.
Running the Whole Program — Augusta Christian Schools (2025)
As head coach, I rebuilt a depleted program in a single offseason — growing the varsity roster from 5 returning players to 28 through relationship-driven recruiting in the hallways and the community. I launched a youth feeder program, secured community partnerships, and led facility upgrades including a redesigned weight room.
What I Lead With
Aggressive by Design, Flexible by Nature. And one standard above all: FAMILY — Forget About Me, I Love You. My job is to build young men who happen to play winning football, and to leave every program healthier than I found it.
